MISSONS

What is missions?

The Missions Ministry of our church is one of local to global in focus.  We purpose to be obedient to the Great Commission (Matt. 28: 19-20) and motivated by the Great Commandment (Matt. 22: 36-40).  Our theme is:  Making the Gospel Visible.  Our global mission strategy is:  making an IMPACT.  We implement this strategy by Investing and inviting the lost; Making disciples; Planting churches; Aiding and caring for the poor, the sick and the vulnerable; Committed to worldwide evangelism; and Training and equipping leaders.

LOCAL

We focus on our local community via Impact Church (our church plant) Spanish and Swahili speaking ministries, Women’s Shelter, food pantries and teaming with our city and local churches in meeting community needs.  Statewide we partner with Mission Arlington, Angel Tree and Baptist Convention Disaster Relief and Hunger Offering.

NATIONAL

Our nationwide emphasis is disaster relief and church planting in Brooklyn, New York.  The student ministry centers on inner city ministry nationwide, special projects yearlong and teaming with adults in international missions.

SEND North America

Through the North American Board, we are national partners in planting churches.

We partnered in planting the Pathway Church in Tacoma, Washington, ministering to inner city Tacoma. Send Baltimore is designed to help rebuild the City of Baltimore in the name of Christ through church planting and evangelism. We are partnering with four church plants in the Baltimore metroplex area. For the last five years we have sent summer mission teams and partnered with the church plants in reaching their communities and making the Gospel visible.

Our most recent church plant is in Brooklyn, New York (2020).

Our student ministries are centered in inner city ministry, to include Nashville, Mobile, Denver and St. Louis (2020).

INTERNATIONAL

Our international focus is that of feeding the hungry with initiatives in Peru, Haiti and worldwide with Feed My Starving Children.  New church planting and discipleship opportunities are opening in Bulgaria, Kenya, Peru, as well as our current initiative in Haiti.  The leading of the Spirit brings special opportunities for service and for His glory.

HAITI

We have partnered with Eglise Union Chretienne De Cap Destree in Petit Goave Haiti since 2017. We are making the Gospel visible to an elementary school, a church and a mountain top community. Yearly mission trips are planned to assist in establishing a sewing school, a wood-working school and for working on major improvements to the school and permanent church structure.

Feed My Starving Children

Coming again September 2022

FMSC is a Christian non-profit organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, then we ship these meals to our distribution partners. FMSC meals have reached nearly 70 countries around the world in our history. Each year we host a three-day community-wide meal packing event to provide starving children world-wide a meal a day. Since 2011 our church family has packed over seven million meals.

LAMB Offering and Mission Education

At the end of each year, our church family gives a monetary donation to the Lottie Moon Offering, which is for International Missions; to the Annie Armstrong Offering for North American Missions; to the Mary Hill Davis Offering for Texas Missions; and to the mission opportunities you see on this website and many more.

Our yearly offering is taken in December in both services. However, donations can be made throughout the year.
