Counseling Center

Our approach to counseling is with humility and a total dependence on God.  By applying biblical principles in counseling, individuals and families can be restored by the transforming power of God.  Our goal is that clients would experience the love of Christ, be strengthened and experience healing through the counseling process.  Each counselor is an independent contractor and licensed by the State of Texas.  See counselor profiles below.

Dorothy Jones, Licensed Professional Counselor

Dorothy is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Nurse. She began her nursing career, and more importantly, her relationship with Christ in 1984.  After graduating from Wichita State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, she practiced nursing in several fields before being called to work in Hospice.  After 26 years of nursing, Dorothy felt God calling her to counseling, which led her to Wayland Baptist University where she earned a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling.  In these two careers and various ministry opportunities, Dorothy has had the privilege of working with people of all ages and diverse cultures.  Her nursing experience with patients at end of life and their families has equipped her to help those struggling with grief and the challenges that come with loss.  She also assists clients as they struggle with depression, anxiety, marital conflict and many other life challenges.  Her desire is to glorify God and to be an instrument to accomplish His will in people’s lives.

Marni Morgan, MA, LPC

Marni has been working with children and families for the last 28 years. She has worked with children and families primarily in the child welfare system and with children considered to be “at risk.” Marni received her undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science with a minor in psychology. She received her Masters in Counseling from Wayland Baptist University in which she was the recipient of the Outstanding Graduate for the Masters of Arts Counseling program. Marni has a great deal of experience in working with adolescents and adults that are effected by trauma, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, issues with attachment, marital conflict, stress management, self-esteem issues and families in crisis. Marni feels blessed to be able to utilize her life/work experience combined with her education to help children and families in need. Marni has worked with a diverse population and individuals of many different cultural backgrounds.

Sarah has her Masters of Arts degree from Wayland Baptist University in counseling. She also works as a Community Health Worker and a Business Administrator. Sarah received her undergraduate degree in Communications and a Master’s Degree in Management and Organizational Leadership. Sarah felt God calling her to counseling and community health work after walking through some of her own challenges. It is her desire to walk with adults, teens and youth impacted by trauma and crisis and assist clients struggling with anxiety, depression, connection, stress and other challenges in life. Her desire is to bring glory to God and walk with others through their struggles.
