MEET OUR PASTOR
David Lindow – Senior Pastor

Pastor David Lindow is a native born Texan raised in the southeast town of Vidor, Texas. His undergraduate work was done at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. While attending the university, David met and married his wife, Lisa. He completed the Master of Divinity program at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary while serving the First Baptist Church of Possum Kingdom as Minister of Students and Music. Upon completion he accepted the call to Parkview Baptist Church of San Saba where he served for two and a half years before coming to First Baptist Universal City. David came on staff in 1992 as Minister of Students and Young Singles and became Senior Pastor in 1996. Pastor David and Lisa have two daughters Kalli and MiKayla. His spare time is spent sailing and doing wood work in his small shop.
Pastor David is highly committed to the expository preaching and teaching of God’s Word, caring ministry of God’s people and the mission of reaching this generation with the compassionate uncompromised truths of God’s Word. His life verse comes from Psalm 84:7, “They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.”
Ryan Gilbert – Senior Pastor Elect

Pastor Ryan Gilbert is originally from Wichita Falls, TX. He met Lauryn while they were studying music at TCU in Fort Worth. After university, he finished a Master of Divinity at Southwestern Seminary and is currently finishing a Doctorate at Midwestern Seminary in Kansas City.
He has served as a student pastor, associate pastor, and lead pastor in churches in Texas and Missouri. He was voted in as Senior Pastor Elect on October 20, 2024. He and Pastor David will work together for a smooth transition until Ryan becomes Senior Pastor on December 1st, 2025.
Ryan loves listening to big band jazz, playing the trumpet, and spending lots of time with his family.
Ryan is committed to expository preaching, meaningful membership, and reaching those of all ages with the gospel of Jesus Christ. His life verse is Acts 20:24- “ However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me— the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”
