PHYSICAL

This pillar involves taking care of the body God has given us. It emphasizes regular exercise, nutritious eating, adequate rest, and prudent health care. Physical wellness in a Christian context is often seen as a stewardship of the body, recognizing it as a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

EMOTIONAL

The emotional wellness pillar involves recognizing our emotions, understanding that they are a gift from God, and learning to manage them in a healthy way. It also means seeking peace and comfort through prayer and faith in God, especially during times of emotional distress, and leaning on the strength that comes from a Christ-centered life.

FINANCIAL

This pillar focuses on managing resources wisely and living within one’s means, in line with biblical teachings about stewardship. It involves making informed and God-honoring financial decisions, practicing generosity, and trusting in God’s provision. The emphasis is often on the biblical principles of giving, saving, and ethical spending.

RELATIONAL

This pillar emphasizes loving relationships as exemplified by Christ. It involves fostering healthy, supportive, and forgiving relationships with family, friends, and community members. Relational wellness in a Christian context also includes being part of a faith community, showing compassion, and engaging in acts of service and love towards others.

SPIRITUAL

At the heart of a Christian wellness program, this aspect is about nurturing a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It includes regular prayer, Bible study, and participation in church life. Spiritual wellness is about growing in faith, understanding God’s Word, and living a life that reflects Christian values and beliefs.

INTELLECTUAL

In the Christian perspective, intellectual wellness includes the pursuit of knowledge and truth, while also recognizing the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit. It involves engaging the mind through reading, learning, and thoughtful discussion, including the study of Scripture and Christian teachings, to grow in understanding and wisdom.
