We reach out to our local community via the GO (God’s Outreach) Ministry, spanish and african (swahili) ministries, women’s shelter, food pantries and impact church (our church plant).
(God’s Outreach to Universal City)
Each Tuesday evening the GO Team meets at three locations. They offer FREE hamburgers and hot dogs and demonstrate the love of Jesus by sharing God’s Word. Additionally, GO, alongside of Sunday school departments, ministers within the community during the holiday seasons with food baskets and gifts to needy children, as well as school supplies and backpacks each new school year.
Hope Shelter Ministry
Each Thursday evening a group of our church members head downtown to the Salvation Army’s Hope Shelter to teach ladies and children’s Bible studies. This is an outreach to those less fortunate, the homeless women and children, is an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
Vacation bible school
During the month of June our church family gathers (alternating years of on campus and off campus) in the largest outreach of our church. Church members focus for one week in teaching, recreation, crafts and food service; all in focus to reach the children of our community with the Gospel. The week ends with a family night and ice cream.
Fall Family Festival
Every year on October 31st our church hosts a community-wide FREE festival on our back parking lot. We have games, music, cook-offs, bounce houses, candy and food. This event is open to the public and all are welcome.
Angel Tree Ministry
Every December we host a Christmas party for children of incarcerated adults. You can pick up your “Angel” during the month of November from the Christmas tree in the Main Sanctuary. Each “Angel” represents a child who would not receive a gift from their parent except for the Angel Tree gift.
New Found Freedom Ministry
This is an outreach ministry to male youth who are incarcerated at Giddings State School in Giddings, Texas. The second and fourth Tuesday of each month, the NFF team puts together a small program to present the Gospel message and small group teams to help disciple these young men. Meet at the church office at 2:30 PM.
On Wednesday mornings a group of our ladies meet to fellowship and work on a variety of crafts. This leads to a spring and winter craft sale and all proceeds go to our missions ministry.
English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are available for beginning speaking levels. Classes are normally offered on Tuesday evenings. A Citizenship Preparation class is also offered on Wednesday evenings. Both classes begin at 6:30 pm and meet in the Love building.
Our Spanish Ministry is a small, united group of Spanish speakers who meet each Sunday morning for Sunday School at 9:30 am in Hope building room 115 followed by an energized worship service in the Chapel at 11:00 am. A Sunday school class for Spanish speaking youth is available at the same time.
